The Book Club is a modern literacy studio and social club in West Hartford, CT for children ages 0–12 and the grown-ups who love them. Built on the belief that reading is not just a skill but a gateway to curiosity, connection, and confidence, The Book Club turns stories into hands-on, joyful learning experiences that kids carry long after they leave the classroom.

Our Approach: Literacy Through PlaY
At The Book Club, we use books as the foundation for discovery. Whether kids are painting scenes from a story, conducting a science experiment inspired by a character, or acting out a chapter on stage, each moment helps them make meaningful connections between what they read and the world around them.
This playful, multi-sensory approach gives children the tools they need not only to become strong readers, but to become thoughtful learners—with imagination, confidence, and curiosity leading the way.
